“Crafts And Clothes For Careers,” is a fashion-themed craft show being held as a fundraiser for the Holyoke Career Closet (a partnership between Providence Ministries for the Needy, Inc. and Holyoke Community college providing interview-outfits to HCC students).
The event will be held Saturday May 19, 2012 from 10am-2pm in the Pope John Paul II Social Center, adjacent to Mater Dolorosa School in Holyoke, MA 01040.

The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom (“Don’t quit your day job!”), and although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.

What the heck is a PodCamp? It is an open and collaborative event with discussions and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. Some sessions will be planned ahead of the event, but plenty of spaces will be open for the topics YOU want to discuss and learn. Tickets are $30 ($10 for students), but all are expected to participate and/or present. You can participate by giving a presentation, demo, or joining into another cooperative event, being on a panel/roundtable, or in other ways helping out on event day.
